Pre-Made Cover Preview

If you’ve visited my blog before, or even followed me on twitter, you may have noticed that I like to make covers for books. Some examples include one for the NaNo that has just gone by, and pretty much everything in my portfolio.

In the hopes of earning a bit more pocket money to help fund ventures such as Bibliodaze, Bloodsucking Feminists, and general life, I’ve been slowly building up a small repository of pre-made covers to eventually sell. (It’s harder than it sounds, because ideas and genres and general design-yness. Hit me up if you have suggestions.)

So here is my favourite of the ones I have made so far. In a pretty mockup[note]If you like the mockup’s look, it’s available from GraphicRiver[/note] because why not? It’s actually just the ebook cover, but I like pretty.

As you can see, I have put in placeholder names and titles, simply because I think it looks nicer than YOUR TITLE HERE. Kayleigh (aka my fellow Bloodsucking Feminist) says it looks something like a female-centric weirdlit book in the vein of something like Miss Peregrine’s Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Which I think is cool. I had the poster for the movie Orphan in mind when I was making it – the whole uneasiness coming from a face that was too symmetrical idea.

Anyway, what do you think? This one will be an odd one out of the other premades, I’m pretty sure. But it’ll also be one of my favourites because it was so different.
