5 Gift Ideas For The Vampire Fang-Girl

So my birthday Christmas is next month, and I’ve been using that fact as an excuse to trawl through Etsy and look at all the cool things I want but cannot have.

Let me tell you, there is a lot of vampire-themed items on Etsy. Like, lots and lots and lots. So here is just five things, one from a different category, to… get your blood pumping? Puns are so terrible.

For Her Throat: Garnet Vampire Bite Necklace

It’s the iconic image of a vampire victim: the two spots of blood at the throat. This necklace is simple, understated, but looks fantastic. I actually own one of these chokers and the smiles/comments I get from people who recognise it is like I’m in a secret club.

Other people just think it’s pretty. Which also works.

For Her Lower Half: Jonathan Harker’s Diary Skirt

One thing I love about Dracula and other gothic books and films is the clothing. Especially those big gorgeous dresses with their dramatic skirts. Unfortunately a lot of those dresses are not the most practical thing for daily wear. 🙁 But this take on the “text on clothing” trend has a great line, isn’t covered entirely in text, and has little drops of blood everywhere. There’s also a matching scarf, to hide the bite marks.

For Her Wall: Count Dracula’s Vampire Greeting

It’s one of the more famous quotes from Bram Stoker’s novel: “Welcome to my house. Come freely. Go safely; and leave something of the happiness you bring!” Unfortunately I could not find a doormat with this on it, so a lovely wall poster was the next best thing. Madame Talbot’s has a wonderful collection of gothic illustration, with plenty of skeletons, although this is my favourite because Dracula.

(I only wish it used ‘house’ rather than ‘home’ to make it a proper quotation. Alas.)

For Her Beauty Routine: Blood Bath

Legend has it that Elizabeth Bathory bathed in the blood of virgins in an attempt to remain young and beautiful. You don’t have to go that far, but any bath oil that smells of sandalwood, labdanum, tonka bean, pomegranate amber and jasmine is surely going to make you feel like royalty. Those are some of my favourite scents, anyway. Yummy!

(Alternately, blood red bath bombs might be an option, for those who want the full red bath experience. Including clean up. XD)

For Her Belongings: Dracula Book Purse

I’ve been admiring Novel Creations’ beautiful purses for years now. They are both bookish and elegant, and with so many to choose from it’s hard to decide what I’d pick first.

Oh wait, no. Dracula. But which one? There are four Dracula purses. And for those who are fans of other works, there’s ones for The Vampire Chronicles and even True Blood.

(And if for some reason you don’t want a vampire-themed one, there’s other gothic lit, fairytales, classic lit and more.)

For The Bonus Item: Werewolves, Not Swearwolves

Because of course you’re all excited for the What We Do In The Shadows sequel, We’re Wolves.

And that’s it for this time. Knowing me I’ll find another dozen cool vampire things on Etsy to start wittling down, so don’t be surprised if there’s another post. But tell me: what do you think would make for a great gift for a vampire fang-girl?
